Free Summer Conditioning:
Beginning on July 9th, LMMHS will be offering a sports conditioning program twice a week for all student-athletes entering 7th-12th grade. This program focuses on proper dynamic warm ups to enhance performance and reduce risk of injury, followed by three sections: core and lower extremity stability, strength and power, and speed and agility. A team of professionals, including a physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach, will prepare student-athletes for sports . Students will also receive guidance on how to safely and properly lift weights based on their age and physical level. Regular attendance is encouraged but not mandatory.

Lenox Public Schools wishes our students and their families a safe, healthy, and happy summer vacation!

The Lenox Library is hosting a virtual author talk and has asked that we extend the invitation to our school community.
Unpacking a History of Systemic Racism in the American Education System with Tiffany Jewell (Virtual)
Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join us as #1 New York Times bestselling author Tiffany Jewell highlights the inequities Black and Brown students face from preschool through college as she presents lessons and knowledge from her new book Everything I Learned About Racism I Learned in School.
From preschool to higher education and everything in between, Everything I Learned About Racism I Learned in School focuses on the experiences Black and Brown students face as a direct result of the racism built into schools across the United States.
The overarching nonfiction narrative follows author Tiffany Jewell from early elementary school through her time at college, unpacking the history of systemic racism in the American educational system along the way. Throughout the book, other writers of the global majority share a wide variety of personal narratives and stories based on their own school experiences.
Everything I Learned About Racism I Learned in School provides young folks with the context to think critically about and chart their own course through their current schooling—and any future schooling they may pursue. A true “don’t want to miss” event–so register now!

Public Notice
Vacancy Lenox School Committee

I am delighted to announce the results of the Morris School Assistant Principal Search: Ms. Holly Soules is scheduled to join the Morris School Family on July 1st as Asst. Principal. Ms. Soules is no stranger to Morris; her children are alumni. Ms. Soules comes to Morris as a school administrator from a neighboring school district.
The plan is to prepare Ms. Soules for assuming the principalship of the Morris School over the next 3 years . In year 4 (2027-2028 ), when Principal Kelley becomes the full-time Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment Director for preK-grade 12, Ms. Soules should make a seamless transition to lead Morris already knowing the students, families, staff, culture, programs, and budget well.
Please join me in welcoming Holly Soules to the Lenox School Community!

It's National School Nurse Day

With much gratitude for your support,
Dr. William Collins

Student/Parent Reunification Preparedness Underway at LPS -
Last Thursday, the Morris School, Lenox Police and Fire Departments, held a reunification drill. All students were relocated off campus and a small group of parents volunteered to come to the relocation site to test parent-student reunification procedures. While a reunification is statistically unlikely to occur, having a well thought out reunification plan will avoid a chaotic scene should a relocation event actually arise.
Yesterday, Trooper Guilbault, our State Police School Liaison, led a reunification training for LMMHS staff. Both Chief O’Briens and SRO Colvin participated.

U.S. News & World Report has released the list of schools nationwide that have achieved the status of U.S. News Best High Schools and LMMHS made the list!
Congratulations to the students and staff on achieving this honor!
