Classics Day
On Tuesday, Dr. Lovell and Ms. Dupuis travelled with LMMHS students of Latin to Mt. Holyoke College for this year’s Classics Day. The Lenox Myth Certamen team reached the final round and placed third overall!
The students also earned awards in the art competitions, with top prizes in categories like Model and Digital Art, and several honorable mentions in areas including Sculpture, Mosaic, and Military.

Odyssey of the Mind
The PTO is seeking donations to help send our small but mighty team of Morris students to the World Finals in Michigan. Their trip to Maine was grant and parent funded.

5th to 6th Grade Transition Day
Today, the Morris 5th Graders got to visit, tour, and learn about moving up to 6th Grade at LMMHS.

Assistant Principals Holly Soules and Marcus Hass are representing Lenox Public Schools at the MSAA Assistant Principals' Conference at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
Great additions to the LPS Admin Team!

The company that supplied our poster printer (Presentation Systems Inc.) held a school photo contest. Heather McNeice, our LMMHS Business & Computer Applications Teacher, entered LMMHS into the contest and... took first place!
Take a look at the before & after photos of the LMMHS School Store front and you'll see why!
Thank you Ms. McNeice for always going above and beyond!!

Congratulations to Morris School on being recognized with a Bronze level distinction by the Northeast Positive Behavioral Interventions!

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE
Housatonic Street from the Bypass to East Street will be closed on Tuesday April 8th, all day starting at 7am (most likely for 9 to 10 hours)

Congratulations to the LMMHS students who were inducted into the National Honor Society.
You make the entire LPS community proud!

What a spectacular science fair last night at Morris!
The student scientists were amazing. Much appreciation for all of the distinguished judges who donated their time (including members of the LMMHS Robotics Teams). What a great evening!
A big THANK YOU to Erica Robbins & Haley Holmes for coordinating such a wonderful event.
More science fair photos to follow...

Lenox Public Schools celebrates Paraprofessional Appreciation Day!
Paraprofessionals play a valuable and supportive role in our schools. We could not do what we do without them.
Please give it up for our in-house superheroes!

She's gone and done it again!
Our Food Service Director, Shannon Gagliardo, just secured another grant. This time a breakfast grant for the Morris School from the New England Dairy Council.
Morris will receive $1,147 to purchase a smoothie kit and host smoothie taste tests for students.
This grant will help remove some processed foods at breakfast and introduce new items made with fresh ingredients. Director Gagliardo is excited about the introduction of smoothies made with "simple, clean ingredients with minimal added sugar, no food dyes, no additives we can't pronounce..."
The LPS budget for next year includes the addition of a half-time Grant Writer. Director Gagliardo's position will go from half-time to full-time, with half of her day being devoted to grant writing. We anticipate that this position will be revenue positive for the District (meaning that LPS will raise more in grant revenues than it cost to make Director Gagliardo full-time).

Welcome LMMHS School Nurse Jennifer Drees as our latest featured alumnus!

Principal Brenda Kelley, Amanda Hanlin-Hocher, and Lindsay Osterhoudt are at the Massachusetts Reading Association Conference where they accepted the banner on behalf of the School (soon to be proudly displayed at Morris) for the prestigious honor of being the one school to earn this year's Exemplary Reading Program Award for excellence in literacy programming, among all levels and across the entire state!
CONGRATULATIONS!!

Have you ever considered being a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, food server, custodian or school nurse?
Why not give it a try? We now have some substitute teaching shifts available as short as one hour.
Great kids, great staff, great place to sub!

Food Service Director Shannon Gagliardo has secured another grant!
This time it is a $10,000 grant to roll out a Grab-and-Go After the Bell initiative at LMMHS!
Way to go Director Gagliardo!!
This grant comes from the Eos Foundation, which supports systemic solutions aimed at nourishing children’s bodies, nurturing their minds, building family economic security, and achieving gender equity and diversity in leadership across society.
