Lenox Memorial Middle and High School presents: How To Navigate Sex, Drugs & rock n’roll With Your Teenager – an evening not to be missed!  Nataly Garzon, Coordinator of Youth Development from the Berkshire County United Way and Thomas M. Miller, a licensed Clinical Social Worker will be presenting the motivational discussion in the Duffin Theater, on Thursday, February 25th from 7 – 8:30 p.m. During this talk you will learn how to “head to the heart” and connect more deeply with your children through effective and purposeful dialogue.  Their hope is “to leave this training feeling empowered, hopeful, and with a few extra tools in your parent tool kit.”

30th Annual Berkshire County High School Art Show  - The Norman Rockwell Museum’s 30th Annual Berkshire County High School Art Show will be on view from Saturday, February 6 – March 6.  The Museum will be showcasing the TOP 10 artworks from each Berkshire County high school. Congratulations to the following students who will have their work showcased:  Alaina Blair, Tova Brown, Renae Carotenuto, Alice Huth, Emma Ingalls, Shannon Jacoby, Katie Mitts, Cami Smachetti, Lucy Schwartz, and Sophie Usow. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

 

Junior Class – Boys’ and Girls’ State week long study of local and state government.  If any member of the junior class is interested in government and current events, have a high moral character, strong leadership ability, above average scholastic standing, respect for the Flag and each other than you might want to consider applying for the 2016 session of Massachusetts Boys State and Girls State that will be held in early June.  This is an intensive, week-long program that immerses students in grassroots democracy.  More information and applications are located in guidance.

 

The Lenox Living Magazine is looking for a student to take photographs at the school.  If you are interested please see Ms. Romeo.

Youth Leadership for Sophomores – Class of 2018 – This is an opportunity for a member of the sophomore class to be involved in an intensive and rewarding 10 month long experience during their junior year.  You will meet community leaders from businesses, government agencies and civic organizations.  You will learn about the issues and solutions facing the Berkshire County community.  Applicants must demonstrate leadership in his/her school and /or the community.  Have an interest in furthering his/her knowledge about community leadership and career paths in Berkshire County and commit to full participation in the Youth Leadership Program.  Applications are available in guidance.

 

 

 

 
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

 

Dance – Dance- Dance – the 7th grade class has postponed their dance until February 26th. 

 

MS Yearbook Cover Contest - Submit a design for the 2015-2016 middle school yearbook cover.  Submissions should be made on 8.5X11” paper and given to Mrs. Léger by March 1st.  The winner will receive a FREE yearbook in June! This is open to ALL middle school students.

 

Wanted – Photo Booth Photos from the Decades Dance – we would like to include some of the fun photos from our last dance in the middle school yearbook this year! Please bring in one of your photos (or the strip of photos) in an envelope with your name on it and give it to Mrs. Léger.  We will scan the photo and return the original one to you ASAP.

Gay Straight Alliance – Open to all - meets on Tuesdays after school in the Middle School Conference room from 2:30 – 3:00 pm

GEM – Wednesdays 2:30 in the guidance office.

HS A Cappella meets every Friday 7:00 a.m. in the music room.

HS Art Club – Wednesdays after school in room 15.

HS Chorus – Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 a.m. in the music room.

Mountain Biking Club - Thursdays

MS Art Club  - meets on Wednesdays after school from 2:30-3:15.

MS Chorus – Wednesdays from 7:00 – 7:30 a.m. in the music room.

National Art Society – Fridays at 7:25 a.m. in room 15.  These meetings are mandatory!

Programming Club – High School – Tuesdays, 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.  rm 46

Robotics Club meets in Mr. Mac’s room on Thursday from 2:30 - 4:00

SAVE meets every Monday in room 39 at 2:30 p.m.
