FOR ALL LMMHS STUDENTS – We will be up guarding our email from GroupWise to Outlook early next week, in doing so you will receive a new mailbox.  Your old email will remain available on GroupWise for 2 weeks after the conversion.  Your email address, user account and password will remain the same.

 

SPIRIT DAY – Spirit Day, September 7th wear your maroon and gold to help support our teams.  Show your school spirit!! GO LENOX!!!

 

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

 

ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 10 -12 – Community Service Opportunity – High School Mentoring with Big Brothers big Sisters.  Applications are available in guidance for those students interested in Community Service at the Lenox Community Center, 1.5 hours per week working with students typically from Morris Elementary in grades 2-5. 

 

CLASS OF 2014 – you are still in need of a secretary and treasurer.  All interested students may pick up nomination forms in the Main Office and returned to Mrs. Navarino by Wednesday, September 8th.  Elections will be held on Friday September 10th.  If there are any questions, please see Mr. Cogswell. 

 

HS STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS – all students 9-12 who are interested in running for Student Council will be able to pick up their nomination papers as soon as the Class of 2014 has completed their voting on class officers.  Dates and further information will be posted in the bulletin.

QUIZ TEAM – Quiz Team will begin practices on Wednesday, September 8 at 2:30 in the library and on Friday mornings at 6:30 in room 36. All high school students are welcome to attend. Please email Ms. Durrin with any questions. bdurrin@lenoxps.org

 

SAT PREPARATION COURSE – will begin Thursday evening, September 9th at 7:00 pm. The course is intended to alert as well as to prepare students for the November 6th administration of the SAT I.  In this eighteen-hour instructional course that meets for two hours each Thursday students will equally divide their study between the Verbal and Math components.  The fall SAT Instructional course will emphasize practices and drills as most students are already familiar with the test’s objectives.  The cost for LMMHS students is $100.00. Costs for interested students who are not from LMMHS are $250.00.  Please contact Mrs. O in the Guidance Office to sign up or for further information.  Sign-up is critical.  For anyone with financial concerns, please contact either Ms. Spoehr in the Guidance Office or Mr. Hurley (room # 34).

 

SAVE – Students against violent engagements (SAVE) is meeting every Tuesday for 2nd and 3rd lunches. Please stop by to find out more about what is going on in the world and what you can do to help. Everyone is invited to attend.

 

SENIORS – Colleges/Universities are beginning to book visits to Lenox in order to meet with interested seniors.  Anyone interested in meeting with a representative, please give your name to Mrs. O in the guidance office.  Please make sure you check in with your regular scheduled class before coming to guidance to meet with a representative.

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS        

 

MS CLASS ELECTIONS AND STUDENT COUNCIL - will be held shortly.  Dates and further information will be posted in the bulletin.

*              Notice to all students (MS and HS): Cell phone use is not permitted during the school day which means cell phones must be turned off and out of sight.

*              Students are not allowed to use the video component of a video phone in the school building at any time.

*              Headphones are not to be worn during school hours and are to be kept out of sight.

*              Open containers are prohibited in hallways

*              All students are reminded that they should stay off the rock wall in the front of the building and off the lawn above it at all times.

*              Skateboarding is not allowed on school property at any time.  Skateboards must be enclosed in a case for transportation on the bus.

*              Throwing of snowballs is not allowed on school grounds at any time for any reason.

*              Students are not allowed in the Faculty/Staff Dining Room at any time for any reason. This includes before, during and after school. The soda machine is off limits!

*              For High School Students: Book bags are to be kept out of the hallways at all times. Please keep your book bags and other belongings in your classroom or locker. During lunch, bags should be left at your seat before you get your meal.

*              Do not bring valuables to school – do not place them in your locker. If you must bring valuables or money to school, be sure to check them in with the Main Office.

*              DETENTIONS -

*              DIRECTED STUDY – will be held Tuesdays and Thursday from 12:30 – 4:30

*              LOCKERS ARE SCHOOL PROPERTY AND ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH BY SCHOOL OFFICIALS.
